40 Hours Adoration:

To celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King this year, there will be 40 Hours Adoration in the Cathedral, beginning with Mass at 7:30 pm on Friday, 24th November and concluding with Solemn Vespers and Benediction at 4 pm on Sunday 26th November. Confessions will be heard in the Cathedral continually from 12 noon to 12 midnight on Saturday 25th November.

While each parish of the diocese will be assigned to a particular hour of adoration, people are in no way restricted to their parish's hour. Welcome at any time.

Slane Parish Saturday 25th 2pm

Bishop Deenihan has asked that prayers would be offered

· for the children preparing for the Sacraments and for their families, that they may grow in love for Christ in the Eucharist.

· for a return to the Eucharist in our parish communities

· for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in our Diocese.

“Only in adoration, only in the presence of the Lord, do we truly rediscover our taste and passion for evangelization. Oddly enough, we have lost the prayer of adoration; and everyone, priests, bishops, consecrated men and women, need to recover it, this ability to be quiet in the Lord’s presence.”   Pope Francis, World Youth Day 2023, Lisbon
