Missions Promotion!
A member of the Franciscan Brothers will speak at all Masses next weekend, 17th & 18th July. The Franciscan Brothers were founded in Galway in the early 1800's. They were founded to work with the rural poor in Ireland and so all of their monasteries were located in rural areas. Their primary work involved Religious and Secular Education and Agriculture. They are well remembered for their work during The Great famine. Presently they have missions in Kenya and Uganda where they are involved in Aids Awareness, Secular and Religious Education, Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development, Food and Seed Distribution, Food Security and Famine Relief.
