Slane Parish

Slane is located in an area steeped in history; from the Neolithic structures of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, through the ancient Christian settlement on the Hill of Slane, and on to the Battle of the Boyne site nearby.

To make the pages more manageable, we have broken this history section in three: one page for a general history of the parish; one page for the Church of St Patrick, Slane, and one for the Church of the Assumption, Monknewtown.
